Spa day Anyone?

On Wednesday we had Brinlee's friend party for her 9th birthday. We haven't had a friend party for a few years. This year She decided she wanted it to be a spa party. The Girls all walked home with Brinlee after school. We had some snacks laid out for them, which no one really wanted because they just wanted to get the party Started!

The girls were so excited! First we gave them each a headband to hold back their hair and they put a face mask on. It was quite a feat to fit everybody in the bathroom at the same time.

while their face masks dried we played a game that was similar to musical chairs, but you pass different color nail polishes around the table and when the music stops you fist of all, shriek as loud as you can, and then paint one nail with that color. Repeat nine more times and don't forget the high-pitched girly screams.

After their nails dried a little, we washed off the face masks. Then the girls got down to business personalizing their own sleeping masks, making orange scented bath salts and beading bracelets. We just had enough time to open presents and eat cupcakes and ice cream before the party was over.

I think the girls had a good time, and Brinlee loved it so I guess it was worth all the time and effort it took to put together. Happy Birthday Brinlee, We love you!

Heather's Baptism

Last Saturday My nephew Trevor baptized his girlfriend Heather. It was a rainy, gray day outside, but the warmth and spirit inside more than made up for it. Heather is a very sweet, wonderful, beautiful girl. We are lucky to know her and are so glad she let us be a part of her special day. It was awesome to see my nephew exercise the priesthood he holds to help someone so special to him. We are proud of both of you!

Toothless Liam

This last week liam lost his two front teeth. He said he was glad they both fell out because now he can sing "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth" this Christmas. I didn't have the heart to tell him that the new ones will have grown in before then.

First Day of School

Well,it's official. One of my kids is now in Middle School. I can't believe it! Somehow Parker escaped having his picture taken on the first day of school this year. I guess once you are in middle school that's just not cool anymore. Parker started sixth Grade this year. His teacher is Mrs. Nelson. He really enjoys it and does very well in school. We are grateful that he is not only a great student but a great kid all around.

Brinlee Started third grade. Her teacher this year is Mrs. Belliston. She loves school. She likes learning cursive and is very good at it. She also loves art and is into reding books. Especially the Bad Kitty and Junie B. Jones series. Brinlee is a very loving and fun girl. She has many friends and we are lucky she is a part of our family.

Liam is in first grade this year. His teacher is Mrs. Hammer. He loves going to school all day, and is learning to like school lunch. He Definitely has fun. He is our unique little soul. He comes up with many "Liamisms" which I need to start documenting.

Bronwyn Started preschool at Teacher Megan's this year. She already knew her letters, could count to 30 and write her name. She really loves preschool and asks every day if it is a school day. Brony is a very thoughtful girl. She not only shares with everyone around her, but will give you just about anything if it will make you happy. She is our little peacemaker and cares about everyone's feelings. She brings smiles to all our faces each day.

"Bear Beach"

Since we visited Bear Lake a few years ago the kids have been begging to go back. Every now and then Bronwyn will ask when we can go to "Bear Beach" again. So, while Ryan's brother Mark and his family were up from Arizona we decided it would be a great time to go. It was us, Mark's Family and Ryan's sister Becca and her Family. Thanks to Bec and Phill we scored a great condo and we all went up and stayed overnight. We had so much fun. We tried to conquer all 28" of the "old Ephraim" pizza at Bear Lake PizzaWe didn't quite finish it all! The kids liked the rides they had there as well. We bought some yummy treats at their chocolate shop too
We spent most of the time on the beach just hanging out with the kids. The water level was so high this year that you could wade forever before it got too deep. It was perfect for little and big kids alike. We had a lot of fun and definitely plan to return next summer. Hopefully for more than one night.

Summit 2010

Way back in April,(I know, I'm way behind on posts)Ryan and I went on a trip to Scottsdale Arizona. The trip was paid for by AT&T as a reward for all of Ryan's hard work.(See the last post for more about that) We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa.

It was super nice, and we were definitely taken care of. When we arrived we were greeted by a whole committee of people, who's only job was to take care of our every need. For the next four days, everywhere we went there were people waiting to direct us where to go and what was next on the agenda. Every time we wondered what we needed to do, or if something was going to be taken care of, they were there to help. We attended some great parties, and an awesome awards banquet. We went shopping in Old Town Scottsdale, and ate a wonderful catered dinner out in the middle of the Desert of all places!

It was great to spend time together as a couple, we don't get too many chances for that anymore. We were able to just take a walk together, and have a whole conversation without being interrupted every two minutes. We ate whole meals where nobody ate off our plates but us!

I got to know some of Ryan's coworkers better, and met others for the first time. The company was so nice to all of us who were just along for the ride. They made sure to acknowledge us and our contributions behind the scenes. Each night when we returned to our room there were gifts laid out on our bed. We were so blessed to be able to go.

Our mom's and our friend Lisa split the kid duty, making it easy to not worry about anything back home. We are so grateful to everyone who made this trip possible, and I am especially grateful to my hard working hubby. He does so much for me and our family. someday I hope to be as awesome as he is!

Congratulations Ryan!

This past week Ryan And I got the chance to go on an all expense paid vacation to a resort in Scottsdale, Arizona. You want to know why or how this came about? Because I have the most awesome husband in the world. In case you didn't know, Ryan is a major work-a-holic. I have come to terms with this over the years and have realized that far from being a weakness this is actually one of his greatest strengths. He always does his best no matter what. Many of the top salespeople and managers from At&T recived this trip for their hard work and dedication. However the group Ryan was nominated for was called the Service Excellence Award. Out of 8000 nominees nationwide there were 13 in the western region that recieved this award. To be a summitt winner you had to be in the top .2 percent of people in the company nationwide. I am so proud of him and all he has accomplished. He has recieved many awards that he quietly puts away in the back of the closet and does not ask for any recognition. I thought it was about time I outed him. I hope you will all be as proud of him as I am. I will post more about our trip soon.

Parker's Arrow of Light

Last tuesday we went to Parker's last pack meeting where he recieved his webelos badge, his religous square knot and his Arrow of Light awards. Parker Has really enjoyed his cub scouting experiences. It helps that our ward had awesome leaders that have helped him along the path to becoming a young man. The ceremony was fun, but also spiritual. Dana Watt, our cubmaster presented the boys with an arrow she had made for them. The arrow had a special symbol on it, a heart. Dana said she picked this symbol for the boys (Derek Richins was also recieving his arrow of light that night)because they have such big hearts and are always willing to help others and give to others before themselves. We are so proud of Parker and all he has accomplished. He is a special part of our family andwe love him very much.

Maeli's first professional photos

On april 3rd we took Maeli to get her first real photo shoot. I just couldn't let the tiny baby phase go by undocumented. She was a good model and only fussed when we changed her clothes. I may be just a little biased but I think they are adorable! Here are a few of our favorites.

Maeli Rae London

On March Fourteenth we were blessed with a new addition to our growing family. Maeli Rae was born at 1:16 p.m.. She weighed 6 lbs. 5 ounces and was 19 inches long. Right away we knew that our little Maeli had a mind (and a temper) of her own. She started screaming the minute she was born. She strongly disliked her first bath and let the nurse know it by yelling as loud as she could THE WHOLE TIME. To this day she lets you know if she is not happy! She is VERY loved by her bigbrothers and sisters. There is not much peace to be had for a newborn around here:) she definitely does not lack attention. We are so glad to have another special spirit brought into our home. The spirit of our heavenly father is so strong around a new little baby. We strive to do those things we know he would have us do so that we can return to him again someday as an eternal family.

Brinlee's Baptism Photos

OK- so this mom is not so good about pictures of my kids. It's not that I don't think they are adorable(I do) I just don't make it a priority like I should. Brinlee's baptism was clear back in October, I finally took her in to get her pictures taken a few weeks ago. We just got them back this week and they turned out great. Brinlee is a very photogenic girl. It doesn't hurt that she loves to pose and have her picture taken. There were a ton of pictures. I will try to choose only a few to show you.

Catching up

Well, I was just looking over my last post which was back in september. In it I promised to blog once a week. I guess I'm not so good at keeping my promises! I will try to do better and update more often. Shouldnt be too hard with my track record!
We have had a great winter so far. In October Brinlee was baptized, on halloween! We spent Thanksgiving here in Morgan. We are so blessed to have both sets of parents live so close to us. We've had enough snow for the kids to play in but not too much. Christmas was a blast with all the kids and family that came to visit. The kids remark every day about how they wish their Aunts, Uncles and cousins Could live closer. The annual London Family bowling party on new years day was fun as always. I really think our kids look forward to it as much as Christmas! It is a great tradition that we all love. I love that it gives the kids something to look forward to after the holidays. It definitely helps us to avoid that post Christmas let down. We finally got Brinlee's pictures taken in her baptism dress. I will post them soon.
We hope you are all doing well, keeping warm and healthy wherever you are. Have a wonderful day!
